For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:

1. Showers and thunderstorms associated with an elongated area of low
pressure located nearly 1000 miles south of the southern tip of the
have changed little in organization since yesterday. Environmental
conditions are expected to be generally conducive for gradual
development, and a tropical depression is still likely to form later
this week as the disturbance moves west-northwestward.
