DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the eye of Hurricane Olivia was
located near latitude 17.3 North, longitude 123.5 West. Olivia is
moving toward the west-northwest near 13 mph (20 km/h), and this
motion is expected to with some increase in forward speed during the
next couple of days.  A gradual turn toward the west is expected
over the weekend.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 100 mph (155 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Additional slow weakening is expected during
the next few days.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 115 miles
(185 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 974 mb (28.77 inches).
