DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 300 AM MDT (0900 UTC), the center of Hurricane Fabio was located
near latitude 15.1 North, longitude 114.5 West. Fabio is moving
toward the west-northwest near 15 mph (24 km/h), and this general
motion is expected to continue during the next several days.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 90 mph (150 km/h) with higher
gusts.  However, strengthening is indicated, and Fabio is forecast
to be a major hurricane later today or early Wednesday. Steady to
rapid weakening is expected to begin after that time.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 160 miles
(260 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 977 mb (28.85 inches).
