DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 800 AM PDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ivette was
located near latitude 14.6 North, longitude 120.4 West.  Ivette is
moving toward the west-northwest near 17 mph (28 km/h).  A westward
motion with a gradual decrease in forward speed is expected during
the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 45 mph (75 km/h) with
higher gusts.  Additional strengthening is forecast during the
next 48 hours, and Ivette is expected to become a hurricane by
Thursday night.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 60 miles (95 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1004 mb (29.65 inches).
