DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 900 AM CST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Otto was
located near latitude 10.3 North, longitude 88.2 West. Otto is
moving toward the west near 16 mph (26 km/h). A general motion
toward the west or west-southwest is expected during the next day
or two. On the forecast track, the center of Otto will continue to
move away from Central America.

Maximum sustained winds are near 65 mph (100 km/h) with higher
gusts.  No significant change in strength is anticipated during the
next 48 hours.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles (110 km)
from the center.

RAINFALL:  Rainfall associated with Otto will diminish today over
Nicaragua and Costa Rica, with additional amounts of up to 1 inch
possible.
