TOWARD THE WEST-NORTHWEST NEAR 14 MPH...22 KM/H...AND THIS GENERAL
MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. ON THE
FORECAST TRACK...THE EYE OF COSME WILL PASS OVER OR VERY NEAR
CLARION ISLAND THIS MORNING.
 
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS HAVE DECREASED TO NEAR 80 MPH...130 KM/H...
WITH HIGHER GUSTS. STEADY WEAKENING IS FORECAST DURING THE NEXT 48
HOURS...AND COSME IS EXPECTED TO BECOME A TROPICAL STORM BY TONIGHT
AND A TROPICAL DEPRESSION ON THURSDAY.
 
HURRICANE-FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 35 MILES...55 KM...FROM
THE CENTER...AND TROPICAL-STORM-FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 150
MILES...240 KM.
 
THE ESTIMATED MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS 983 MB...29.03 INCHES.
 
 
HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND

SURF...LARGE SWELLS GENERATED BY COSME ARE AFFECTING PORTIONS OF THE
PACIFIC COAST OF MEXICO FROM NEAR ACAPULCO TO LOS MOCHIS...AND
THE SOUTHERN BAJA CALIFORNIA PENINSULA.  THESE SWELLS ARE LIKELY TO
