...SLOW MOVING IGNACIO WEAKENS TO A TROPICAL STORM...
...HEAVY RAINFALL AND MUD SLIDES STILL A SERIOUS THREAT FOR 
SOUTHERN BAJA CALIFORNIA...
 
A HURRICANE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE EAST COAST OF BAJA
CALIFORNIA FROM SAN EVARISTO TO LA PAZ. THE HURRICANE WARNING WILL
LIKELY BE DISCONTINUED LATER THIS MORNING.
 
TROPICAL STORM WARNINGS REMAIN IN EFFECT FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS...
THE WEST COAST OF BAJA CALIFORNIA SOUTH OF PUERTO SAN ANDRESITO...
AND THE EAST COAST OF BAJA CALIFORNIA SOUTH OF LA PAZ AND FROM
LORETO TO SAN EVARISTO.
 
AT 2 AM PDT...0900Z...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM IGNACIO WAS
LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 24.6 NORTH...LONGITUDE 110.7 WEST OR ABOUT 
35 MILES...55 KM...NORTH-NORTHWEST OF LA PAZ MEXICO.
 
IGNACIO IS DRIFTING TOWARD THE NORTHWEST NEAR  2 MPH... 4 KM/HR...
AND THIS GENERAL MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE DURING THE NEXT 24
HOURS. THIS MOTION SHOULD BRING THE CENTER OF IGNACIO INLAND LATER
THIS MORNING.
 
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR  70 MPH...110 KM/HR...WITH HIGHER
GUSTS.  STEADY WEAKENING IS FORECAST DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS AS
IGNACIO INTERACTS WITH THE MOUNTAINOUS TERRAIN OF BAJA CALIFORNIA.
 
TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO  60 MILES
... 95 KM...MAINLY NORTHEAST OF THE CENTER.
 
THE ESTIMATED MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS  991 MB...29.26 INCHES.
 
EVEN THOUGH IGNACIO IS NO LONGER A HURRICANE...EXTREMELY HEAVY
RAINFALL WITH AMOUNTS EXCEEDING 20 INCHES ARE STILL LIKELY IN THE
WARNING AREAS.  THESE RAINS COULD CAUSE LIFE-THREATENING FLASH
FLOODS AND FAST-MOVING MUD SLIDES.
 
COASTAL STORM SURGE FLOODING OF 2 TO 4 FEET ABOVE NORMAL TIDE
LEVELS...ALONG WITH LARGE AND DANGEROUS BATTERING WAVES...CAN BE
EXPECTED NEAR AND TO THE NORTH OF WHERE THE CENTER REACHES THE
COAST.
 
REPEATING THE 2 AM PDT POSITION...24.6 N...110.7 W.  MOVEMENT
TOWARD...NORTHWEST NEAR  2 MPH.  MAXIMUM SUSTAINED
WINDS... 70 MPH.  MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE... 991 MB.
