PETER WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 25.7 NORTH...LONGITUDE  36.4 WEST OR
ABOUT 1050 MILES...1690 KM...SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF LAJES IN THE
AZORES.
 
THE DEPRESSION IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH-NORTHEAST NEAR 17 MPH
...28 KM/HR. THIS GENERAL TRACK IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE WITH AN
INCREASE IN FORWARD SPEED OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS.
 
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR  35 MPH... 55 KM/HR...WITH HIGHER
