...MINDY CONTINUING NORTHWESTWARD TOWARD THE TURKS AND CAICOS
ISLANDS...
 
A TROPICAL STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTHEASTERN
BAHAMAS AND THE TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS.  A TROPICAL STORM WARNING
MEANS THAT TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED WITHIN THE
WARNING AREA WITHIN THE NEXT 24 HOURS.
 
THERE HAS BEEN LITTLE INFORMATION FROM THE VICINITY OF MINDY DURING
THE PAST COUPLE OF HOURS BUT AT 2 AM AST...0600Z...THE CENTER OF
TROPICAL STORM MINDY WAS ESTIMATED NEAR LATITUDE 20.7 NORTH...
LONGITUDE  70.2 WEST OR ABOUT 80 MILES...130 KM...SOUTHEAST OF
GRAND TURK ISLAND.
 
MINDY IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTHWEST NEAR 13 MPH...20 KM/HR...AND
THIS MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS.  THIS
MOTION WOULD BRING THE CENTER OF MINDY NEAR THE TURKS AND CAICOS
ISLANDS LATER THIS MORNING.
 
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR  45 MPH... 75 KM/HR...WITH HIGHER
GUSTS.  GRADUAL STRENGTHENING IS POSSIBLE DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS.
 
TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 85 MILES
...140 KM...MAINLY TO THE NORTHEAST OF THE CENTER.
 
ESTIMATED MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS 1002 MB...29.59 INCHES.
 
ABOVE NORMAL TIDES ACCOMPANIED BY HIGHER THAN NORMAL SURF CONDITIONS
ARE POSSIBLE IN THE TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS TODAY.
 
LOCALLY HEAVY RAINS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE OVER PORTIONS OF PUERTO
RICO AND THE EASTERN DOMINICAN REPUBLIC.  LOCALLY HEAVY
RAINS COULD SPREAD OVER THE TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS TODAY.
 
REPEATING THE 2 AM AST POSITION...20.7 N... 70.2 W.  MOVEMENT
TOWARD...NORTHWEST NEAR 13 MPH.  MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS...45 MPH.
