Browser Suggestions
Some users have asked us which web browsers we test to be sure our pages display correctly.
Our main philosophy is to avoid complex page formatting, and to test with two
popular and widely-available browsers. We have many users without high-speed internet
connections (such as pleasure boats or ships), and so we try to remain sensitive to their requests.
We test our page content in both Mozilla Firefox and
Windows Internet Explorer. Mozilla Firefox
is available for free and runs on Windows and Unix/Linux platforms, while Internet Explorer is only
available with Microsoft Windows. The test browsers we use are the latest versions available to the
public, and we encourage our users to upgrade their browsers if they are out of date. Some parts of the
NHC website use Javascript, so you may need to be sure your browser has that functionality turned on.
As always, if you are having difficulty viewing our website, please feel free to send
an email to nhcwebmaster@noaa.gov
and we will try to help you.
