There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect.
Interests in the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument should
monitor the progress of Lala.
DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 1100 PM HST (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Lala was
located near latitude 20.7 North, longitude 162.6 West. Lala is
moving toward the west near 13 mph (20 km/h). A westward motion is
forecast through Tuesday, followed by a turn toward the
west-northwest on Wednesday.
Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher gusts.
Little change in intensity is expected over the next day or so.
Some restrengthening is expected thereafter, and Lala is forecast
to become a hurricane again by Wednesday.
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 105 miles (165 km)
from the center.
The estimated minimum central pressure is 997 mb (29.44 inches).

RAINFALL: From Maui to Kauai County, an additional 1 to 3 inches of
rainfall is possible, which may produce localized areas of flooding
and mudslides, especially in areas of steep terrain.

SURF: Large waves generated by Lala will continue to trend down
from east to west across the Hawaiian waters through Monday.
