DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK
------------------------------
At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Roslyn was
located near latitude 17.2 North, longitude 118.4 West.  Roslyn is
moving toward the east-northeast near 5 mph (7 km/h).  A
northeastward motion is expected during the next day or so.  A turn
to the north is expected by Wednesday.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher
gusts.  Weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Roslyn
is expected to become a tropical depression Tuesday night.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 150 miles (240 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1000 mb (29.53 inches).
