DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the center of Hurricane Orlene was located near latitude 19.8 North, longitude 122.9 West. Orlene is moving toward the west near 10 mph (17 km/h), and this general motion with some increase in forward speed is expected over the next couple of days. Maximum sustained winds are near 75 mph (120 km/h) with higher gusts. Gradual weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 15 miles (30 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles (110 km).
