DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Hurricane Georgette was
located near latitude 14.5 North, longitude 123.9 West.  Georgette
is moving toward the west-northwest near 10 mph (17 km/h), and a
turn toward the northwest with decreasing forward speed is expected
over the next 48 hours.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 80 mph (130 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Some additional strengthening is possible
during the next 12 to 24 hours, followed by gradual weakening.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles
(110 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 988 mb (29.18 inches).
