DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Eight-E
was located near latitude 11.8 North, longitude 116.0 West.  The
depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 13 mph (20
km/h).  A west-northwestward heading with a gradual decrease in
forward speed is expected through Saturday night.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher
gusts.  Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours,
and the depression is expected to become a tropical storm later
today.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
