DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK
------------------------------
At 900 PM MDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Frank was
located near latitude 19.6 North, longitude 111.1 West. Frank is
moving toward the northwest near 8 mph (13 km/h).  A general
west-northwestward motion is expected during the next 48 hours.  On
the forecast track, the center of Frank will move away from Socorro
Island tonight.

Maximum sustained winds are near 65 mph (100 km/h) with higher
gusts.  Little change in strength is expected through Sunday, and
then a slow weakening is expected to begin Sunday night or Monday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles (150 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 996 mb (29.42 inches).


HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
SURF:  Swells associated with Frank are affecting the coasts of the
southern Baja California peninsula and the state of Sinaloa.  These
swells could cause life-threatening surf and rip currents.  Please
consult products from your local weather office.
