SUMMARY OF 1100 AM AST...1500 UTC...INFORMATION ----------------------------------------------- LOCATION...20.0N 34.0W ABOUT 710 MI...1145 KM WNW OF THE CABO VERDE ISLANDS MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS...50 MPH...85 KM/H PRESENT MOVEMENT...NW OR 310 DEGREES AT 7 MPH...11 KM/H MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE...999 MB...29.50 INCHES WATCHES AND WARNINGS -------------------- There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect. DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 1100 AM AST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Lisa was located near latitude 20.0 North, longitude 34.0 West. Lisa is moving toward the northwest near 7 mph (11 km/h), and this motion is expected to continue through Saturday. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. Weakening is forecast during the next day or two, and Lisa is expected to weaken to a tropical depression on Saturday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 175 miles (280 km), mainly to the north and east of the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 999 mb (29.50 inches).
