DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Nine-E was located near latitude 8.2 North, longitude 125.3 West. The depression is moving toward the west near 15 mph (24 km/h). A turn toward the west-northwest is expected tonight, with this motion continuing through Friday. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and the depression is expected to become a tropical storm later tonight. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches).
