DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Hurricane Andres was located
near latitude 15.1 North, longitude 116.8 West. Andres is moving
toward the northwest near 7 mph (11 km/h). A turn toward the west-
northwest is likely by Sunday.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 110 mph (175 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Gradual weakening is forecast during the next
couple of days.

Hurricane force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the
center and tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 160 miles
(260 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 966 mb (28.53 inches).
