DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 1100 PM AST (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Nine was located near latitude 15.8 North, longitude 45.1 West. The depression is moving toward the northwest near 7 mph (11 km/h). A general northwestward motion is expected to continue for the next couple of days. Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast during the next 12 to 24 hours, but the depression should weaken to a remnant low by Friday. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1008 mb (29.77 inches).
