DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 1100 PM HST (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Norbert was
located near latitude 17.1 North, longitude 127.4 West. Norbert is
moving toward the west-northwest near 9 mph (15 km/h), and this
general motion is expected to continue over the next couple of days.
Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher gusts.
Gradual strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and
Norbert is forecast to approach hurricane intensity by this weekend.
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles (110 km)
from the center.
The estimated minimum central pressure is 999 mb (29.50 inches).
