DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 500 PM HST (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Moke was
located near latitude 15.3 North, longitude 157.3 West. The
depression is moving toward the west near 14 mph (22 km/h), and this
general motion is expected to continue during the next several 
days. On the forecast track, the center of Moke is expected to pass 
south and southwest of the Big Island of Hawaii tonight, then well 
south of the smaller main Hawaiian Islands tonight and Monday.
 
Recent satellite wind data indicate that maximum sustained winds
are now near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Continued
weakening is forecast, and Moke is expected to degenerate to a 
remnant low pressure area by Tuesday.
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 1003 mb (29.62 inches).
 
 
HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------

WIND: Gusty winds are likely across the Hawaiian Islands during
the next couple of days, especially in areas of high terrain.
 
RAINFALL: Tropical Depression Moke is expected to produce 
additional rainfall totals of 3 to 6 inches through Monday across 
the Big Island. Rainfall totals of 3 to 6 inches of rain are 
expected on eastern Maui. These rainfall amounts may produce 
life-threatening flooding and mudslides for the windward and 
southeast Big Island, especially in steep terrain and over areas 
that were affected recently by Lala. 

Across western Maui and the remainder of the islands, moisture drawn 
northward from Tropical Depression Moke may bring up to 1 or 2 
inches of rain.
