DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 1100 PM HST (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Lala was
located near latitude 35.4 North, longitude 177.7 West. Lala is
moving toward the northwest near 5 mph (7 km/h), and a slow
northwestward motion is expected to continue over the next couple of
days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts.
Gradual weakening is expected during the next couple of days, and
Lala is forecast to become a post-tropical cyclone by late Thursday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 115 miles (185 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 997 mb (29.44 inches).
