Satellite imagery indicates that the convection associated with Lala 
has become less organized, with only one small cluster south of the 
center and a few small convective bands well to the northeast of the 
center. The initial intensity is held at 40 kt pending the next 
scatterometer overpasses, and this could be generous. Due to shear, 
dry air entrainment, and the cyclone being over cold water, the 
convection should dissipate completely within the next 12 h and it 
is unlikely to return. Based on this, Lala is expected to become 
post-tropical by 12 h.

The initial motion is now 335/4 kt. A turn toward the west- 
northwest or northwest is expected during the next day or so as Lala 
becomes embedded in the flow between a low-level ridge to the north 
and a western Pacific tropical cyclone approaching from the south. 
This motion should continue until the system dissipates. The new 
forecast track is similar to, but a touch south of, the previous 
track.
