DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Hurricane Linda was located 
near latitude 19.3 North, longitude 118.2 West. Linda is moving 
toward the west-northwest near 14 mph (22 km/h).  A turn toward the 
west is anticipated by early Sunday, followed by a turn toward the 
west-southwest early Monday.
 
Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 125 mph (205 km/h) 
with higher gusts.  Linda is a category 3 hurricane on the 
Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale.  Some fluctuations in 
intensity, due to a possible eyewall replacement, are possible 
through this evening.  However, a steady weakening trend is forecast 
to commence soon.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 115 miles
(185 km).
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 955 mb (28.20 inches).
 
 
HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
SURF:  Swells generated by Linda are expected to affect portions of
the coast of southwestern Mexico and the southern and western coast
of Baja California Sur over the next few days.  These swells are
likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.
