SUMMARY OF 1100 AM HST...2100 UTC...INFORMATION ----------------------------------------------- LOCATION...13.5N 120.4W ABOUT 945 MI...1520 KM SW OF THE SOUTHERN TIP OF BAJA CALIFORNIA MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS...35 MPH...55 KM/H PRESENT MOVEMENT...SW OR 235 DEGREES AT 7 MPH...11 KM/H MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE...1007 MB...29.74 INCHES WATCHES AND WARNINGS -------------------- There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect. DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1100 AM HST (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Eight-E was located near latitude 13.5 North, longitude 120.4 West. The depression is moving toward the southwest near 7 mph (11 km/h). A turn toward the west-southwest is expected tonight, followed by a turn toward the west on Wednesday. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Satellite imagery indicates that the depression is getting better organized, and it is expected to become a tropical storm by tonight. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- None.
