DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 500 AM HST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Olivia
was located near latitude 19.5 North, longitude 162.2 West. The
depression is moving toward the west-southwest near 18 mph (30
km/h), and this general motion is expected to continue through
this morning with a slight decrease in forward speed, followed by
a turn toward the west later today. Olivia, or its remnant low, is
forecast to turn toward the west-northwest later tonight or Friday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher
gusts. Little change in strength is forecast through tonight.
Olivia is expected to become a post-tropical remnant low by Friday.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1008 mb (29.77 inches).

HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
RAINFALL: Lingering moisture associated with Olivia across Hawaii
is expected to produce additional rainfall accumulations of 3 to 5
inches in some areas, with isolated amounts of 6 to 8 inches
possible, especially over higher terrain. Since the ground is
already saturated over many areas, additional heavy rainfall may
produce life-threatening flash flooding.
