DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 500 PM HST (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Miriam was
located near latitude 24.2 North, longitude 142.3 West. Miriam is
moving toward the north-northwest near 13 mph (20 km/h). A gradual
turn toward the northwest is expected tonight, with a continued
northwestward motion through dissipation on Monday.
 
Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts.
Weakening will continue, and Miriam is expected to become a
post-tropical remnant low on Sunday.
 
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 85 miles (140 km)
from the center.
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 1002 mb (29.59 inches).
