The Tropical Storm Watch has been discontinued for Kure Atoll and
Midway Atoll.
 
SUMMARY OF WATCHES AND WARNINGS IN EFFECT:
 
None.
 
 
DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 1100 PM HST (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Hector was
located near latitude 24.9 North, longitude 178.8 West.  Hector is
moving toward the west-northwest near 17 mph (28 km/h), and this
general motion is expected to continue during the next couple of
days.  Note that on the present track, Hector will likely cross the
International Dateline into the Northwestern Pacific on Monday.
 
Maximum sustained winds are near 65 mph (100 km/h) with higher
gusts.  Some additional weakening is expected during the next two
days.
 
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 105 miles (165 km)
from the center.
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 995 mb (29.39 inches).
 
 
HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
SURF:  Hector is producing swell that will affect portions of the
Northwestern Hawaiian Islands. The large southeast seas and swells
will likely peak between Maro Reef and Lisianski Island tonight, and
across Pearl and Hermes, Midway Atoll, and Kure Atoll from later
tonight through Monday.
