DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the center of Hurricane Hector was located
near latitude 14.1 North, longitude 125.8 West. Hector is moving
toward the west near 14 mph (22 km/h), and this motion is expected
to continue for the next several days.

Maximum sustained winds have risen to near 110 mph (175 km/h) with
higher gusts.  Hector is likely to become a major hurricane tonight
or tomorrow, with further intensification possible over the next
few days.

Hector is a small tropical cyclone.  Hurricane-force winds extend
outward up to 15 miles (30 km) from the center and tropical-storm-
force winds extend outward up to 60 miles (95 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 973 mb (28.74 inches).
