DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 800 AM PDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Aletta
was located near latitude 16.8 North, longitude 117.8 West. The
depression is moving toward the west near 7 mph (11 km/h), and this
general motion is expected to continue today.  A turn toward the
west-southwest with a reduction in forward speed is forecast to
occur on Tuesday.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 35 mph (55 km/h) with
higher gusts.  Additional weakening is expected during the next 48
hours, and Aletta is forecast to degenerate into a remnant low later
today.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches).
