DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ivette was
located near latitude 14.9 North, longitude 122.0 West.  Ivette is
moving toward the west-northwest near 17 mph (28 km/h).  A westward
motion with a decrease in forward speed is expected to begin
tonight and continue through Friday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts.
Strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Ivette could
become a hurricane by Thursday night.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 60 miles (95 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1004 mb (29.65 inches).
