DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Blas was
located near latitude 19.5 North, longitude 131.7 West.  Blas is
moving toward the northwest near 9 mph (15 km/h) and this motion is
expected to continue today.  A turn toward the west-northwest is
forecast tonight, followed by a turn toward the west on Sunday.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 70 mph (110 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Rapid weakening is forecast, and Blas is
expected to become a remnant low on Sunday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 105 miles (165 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 992 mb (29.30 inches).
