A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for...

A Tropical Storm Warning means that tropical storm conditions are
expected somewhere within the warning area, in this case within the
next 12 to 24 hours.

products issued by your national meteorological service.


DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK
------------------------------
At 800 PM MST (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Sandra was
located near latitude 21.2 North, longitude 108.8 West. Sandra is
moving toward the north near 10 mph (17 km/h) and this general
motion is expected to continue for the next 24 to 36 hours.  On the
forecast track, the center of Sandra is expected to pass west of
the Las Islas Marias this evening and move onshore in the warning
area late Saturday or Saturday night.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 65 mph (100 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Additional rapid weakening is forecast, and
Sandra could weaken to a tropical depression before landfall.
After landfall, the cyclone should quickly dissipate.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 150 miles (240 km)
mainly to the east of the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 990 mb (29.24 inches).


HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
RAINFALL:  Sandra is expected to produce total rainfall
accumulations of 4 to 6 inches with isolated maximum amounts of
10 inches possible across the Mexican states of Nayarit, southern
and central Sinaloa, northwest Jalisco, western Zacateca and
southern Durango. This rainfall may produce life-threatening flash
flood and mudslides.

WIND:  Tropical storm conditions are expected to affect the Las
Islas Marias for the next few hours and reach the coast of mainland
Mexico within the warning area late tonight or on Saturday.
