Interests in southern portions of the Baja California peninsula
should monitor the progress of Sandra.


DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK
------------------------------
At 200 PM MST (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Sandra was
located near latitude 11.9 North, longitude 107.2 West. Sandra is
moving toward the west-northwest near 14 mph (22 km/h), and this
general motion is expected to continue through tonight.  A turn
toward the northwest is forecast on Wednesday, followed by a
northward turn on Thursday.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 65 mph (100 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Continued strengthening is forecast during the
next 36 to 48 hours, and Sandra could become a hurricane as early
as tonight.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 70 miles (110 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 997 mb (29.44 inches).
