DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 900 AM MDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Linda was
located near latitude 14.1 North, longitude 109.0 West.  Linda is
moving toward the northwest near 12 mph (19 km/h) and this
general motion is expected to continue during the next couple of
days.

Maximum sustained have increased to near 45 mph (75 km/h) with
higher gusts.  Additional strengthening is forecast, and Linda
could become a hurricane in a day or two.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1000 mb (29.53 inches).
