DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ignacio was
located near latitude 12.3 North, longitude 133.4 West. Ignacio is
moving toward the west near 6 mph (9 km/h), and this motion with an
increase in forward speed is forecast through tonight and Wednesday.
A gradual turn toward the west-northwest is expected on Thursday.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 45 mph (75 km/h) with
higher gusts. Additional strengthening is forecast during the next
48 hours, and Ignacio is forecast to become a hurricane on Thursday.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1003 mb (29.62 inches).
