SUMMARY OF 200 PM PDT...2100 UTC...INFORMATION ---------------------------------------------- LOCATION...13.8N 140.1W ABOUT 1070 MI...1725 KM ESE OF HILO HAWAII MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS...105 MPH...165 KM/H PRESENT MOVEMENT...WNW OR 285 DEGREES AT 14 MPH...22 KM/H MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE...970 MB...28.65 INCHES WATCHES AND WARNINGS -------------------- There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect. DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 200 PM PDT (2100 UTC), the center of Hurricane Guillermo was located near latitude 13.8 North, longitude 140.1 West. Guillermo is moving toward the west-northwest near 14 mph (22 km/h), and this motion with a decrease in forward speed is expected during the next 48 hours. Maximum sustained winds remain near 105 mph (165 km/h) with higher gusts. Guillermo should begin to gradually weaken tonight. Hurricane force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the center and tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 140 miles (220 km). The estimated minimum central pressure is 970 mb (28.65 inches).
