DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK
------------------------------
At 900 PM MDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Blanca
was located near latitude 27.8 North, longitude 113.7 West. The
depression is moving toward the north-northwest near 16 mph (26
km/h).  This general motion is expected to continue with a decrease
in forward speed during the next 24 hours.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 30 mph (45 km/h) with
higher gusts.  Additional weakening is forecast, and Blanca is
expected to degenerate into a remnant low later tonight.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1002 mb (29.59 inches).


HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
RAINFALL:  Blanca is expected to produce additional rainfall
accumulations of 1 to 3 inches over parts of the central and eastern
Baja California peninsula.  Light to moderate rainfall amounts
associated with Blanca will also begin to increase over portions of
the southwestern United states through Tuesday.

SURF:  Swells generated by Blanca near the coast of the Baja
California peninsula should diminish tonight.  For additional
information, please consult products from your local weather office.
