DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 500 PM EDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Eleven
was located near latitude 27.5 North, longitude 70.2 West.  The
depression is moving toward the west near 6 mph (9 km/h), and a
turn toward the west-northwest is expected over the next day or two.

Reports from an Air Force reconnaissance aircraft indicate
that the maximum sustained winds remain near 35 mph (55 km/h)
with higher gusts.  Little change in strength is expected
overnight, but the depression could become a tropical storm on
Tuesday.

The Air Force plane measured a minimum central pressure of 1003 mb
(29.62 inches).
