For the central North Pacific...between 140W and 180W:
The National Hurricane Center has initiated advisories on newly
formed Tropical Depression Seven-E, located about 1600 miles
east of Hilo, Hawaii. Seven-E is expected to move into the
Central Pacific Hurricane Center area of responsibility Wednesday
as a Post-Tropical remnant low.
1. A low pressure system located about 2500 miles east-southeast of
Hilo, Hawaii continues to show signs of organization, and
recent satellite-derived wind data indicate that the low is
producing winds just below tropical storm force. Environmental
conditions are conducive for additional development, and a
tropical depression or tropical storm is likely to form during the
next day or two while the low moves west-southwestward and then
westward at 10 to 15 mph.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...high...70 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...high...90 percent.
Elsewhere, no tropical cyclone formation is expected during the
next 5 days.
