For the eastern and central North Pacific east of 180 longitude:
Active Systems:
The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical
Storm Elida, located well west of the southern tip of the Baja
California Peninsula, and on Tropical Storm Fausto, located
several hundred miles southwest of southwestern Mexico.
Eastern and Central East Pacific:
A broad area of low pressure is forecast to develop well south of
Mexico during the latter part of the week. Environmental conditions
appear conducive for development of the system thereafter, and a
tropical depression could form while it moves westward to
west-northwestward across the eastern and central portions of the
eastern Pacific.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 7 days...medium...50 percent.
South-Southwest of Hawaii:
Showers and thunderstorms associated with a trough of low pressure
located well south of the Hawaiian Islands remain disorganized.
Environmental conditions appear conducive for some gradual
development of this system as it moves generally westward during
the next several days.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 7 days...low...20 percent.
