Marine Weather Discussion for the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, and Tropical North Atlantic from 07N to 19N between 55W and 64W and the Southwest North Atlantic including the Bahamas


...GULF OF MEXICO...

A cold front from extreme SW Florida and the central Florida Keys to western Cuba will move slowly E and exit the basin and the Straits of Florida tonight. Strong NW Winds and high seas behind the front will gradually diminish this afternoon through tonight, becoming light north winds Sun and Mon. Easterly flow will set up across the northern Gulf on Tue as weak low pressure develops over the SW gulf.


...CARIBBEAN SEA AND TROPICAL N ATLANTIC FROM 07N TO 19N BETWEEN 55W AND 64W...

A cold front extends across the NW Caribbean from western Cuba to the Bay Islands and E Gulf of Honduras this morning. The front will become nearly stationary across central Honduras coast while moving slowly eastward across the NW Carib, reaching central Cuba Sun afternoon, eastern Cuba Mon afternoon, then dissipating across the E end of Cuba Tue. Strong north winds are expected W of the front across the Gulf of Honduras through Sun. Fresh to strong trade winds will prevail across the Caribbean E of 80W through early Sun, with highest winds at night off the NW coast of Colombia. Large north swell moving through the Atlc waters off of the Leewards today will continue to spread through the NE Caribbean passages through Sun.


...SW N ATLANTIC INCLUDING THE BAHAMAS...

Strong SE to S winds are expected east of Florida and the Bahamas today ahead of a cold front that has moved eastward and offshore of NE Florida, and extends from 31N79W to near Palm Beach then SW across southern Florida. The cold front will reach from 31N76W to Straits of Florida this evening, from 31N73W across the NW Bahamas to central Cuba Sun afternoon, from near Bermuda to the SE Bahamas and E central Cuba Mon afternoon, then stall and weaken from near 25N66W to E end of Cuba on Tue.
