For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:

1. Showers and thunderstorms associated with a broad area of low 
pressure located a little over 700 miles south-southwest of the 
southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula are gradually 
becoming better organized.  Environmental conditions are expected 
to be conducive for development, and a tropical depression is 
likely to form during the next couple of days as the system moves 
west-northwestward or northwestward well offshore of the coast of 
Mexico.

* Formation chance through 5 days...high...90 percent.
