For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:

1. Satellite data indicate that shower activity associated with the
area of low pressure centered about 200 miles south of the coast of
El Salvador is becoming better organized, and that the circulation
has become better defined.  A tropical depression or tropical storm
is expected to form later today as the system moves generally
northwestward near the coast of Central America, and interests along
the Pacific coast from southeastern Mexico to Honduras should
monitor its progress. Regardless of development, locally heavy rains
are likely over portions of Central America through Saturday

* Formation chance through 5 days...high...90 percent.
