For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:
The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Hurricane
Newton, located near the eastern coast of the Baja California
peninsula.
1. Showers and thunderstorms associated with a low pressure area
located about 1100 miles southwest of the southern tip of the
Baja California peninsula remain disorganized. Environmental
conditions are expected to be somewhat conducive for development
during the next couple of days, but conditions are forecast to
become less favorable later this week while the disturbance
moves northward and then northwestward.

2. A tropical wave located well south of the Gulf of Tehuantepec is
producing disorganized showers and a few thunderstorms. A low
pressure system is expected to form from this wave in a couple of
days several hundred miles southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico. Slow
development of this system is possible, and a tropical depression
could form over the weekend while the low moves west-northwestward.
