TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
1100 PM PDT WED AUG 12 2015

For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:

1. Disorganized showers and thunderstorms extending several hundred
miles south and southwest of Acapulco, Mexico, are associated with
a tropical wave. An area of low pressure is forecast to form in
association with this wave over the next couple of days, and
environmental conditions are conducive for the low to become a
tropical cyclone over the weekend or early next week while it moves
west-northwestward at 10 to 15 mph well offshore the coast of
Mexico.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...40 percent
* Formation chance through 5 days...high...90 percent

2. A weak low pressure area located about 1200 miles east of the Big
Island of Hawaii is producing limited shower and thunderstorm
activity. Development of this system is not expected due to
unfavorable environmental conditions, and the low is likely to
degenerate into a trough during the next couple of days while it
moves westward at 10 to 15 mph.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...near 0 percent
