For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Hurricane
Karina, located several hundred miles southwest of the southern tip
of the Baja California peninsula.

1. A weak area of low pressure is forecast to form a few hundred miles
south-southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California
peninsula in a couple of days.  Some gradual development of this
system is possible early next week while it moves northwestward to
west-northwestward.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 day...low...20 percent.
