For the central North Pacific...between 140W and 180W:

1. An area of low pressure is expected to develop within a broad and
elongated surface trough several hundred miles southeast of the Big
Island of Hawaii over the next couple of days. Some subsequent
development of this system is possible early next week as the
system drifts toward the northwest. The upper level environment
will likely inhibit any further development by mid week.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent.

Elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected during the next 5 days.
