For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:

1. Central East Pacific: 
Disorganized showers and thunderstorms located over the far eastern 
Pacific south of the coast of Guatemala are associated with a 
tropical wave.  Environmental conditions are forecast to be 
conducive for gradual development of this system during the next 
several days, and a tropical depression is likely to form by the 
middle of next week.  The system is forecast to move westward to 
west-northwestward, passing well south of mainland Mexico. 
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...20 percent.
* Formation chance through 7 days...high...80 percent.
